Good news for our ERP clients: we’re preparing to upgrade your ERPNext system to Version 15! We know that “system upgrade” can sometimes sound like something you’d rather not think about. But this one is worth looking forward to.
ERPNext Version 15 brings improvements designed to make everyday work smoother, from a cleaner interface and better performance to new tools for accounting, inventory, manufacturing, assets, and more. We’ll be working with you through the process so the upgrade is properly reviewed and coordinated with your existing ERP setup.
Here’s a look at some of what’s coming.
A Cleaner Way to Work
One of the first things you may notice is the updated user interface.
ERPNext Version 15 introduces a new UI system called “Espresso,” with a cleaner and more modern design. It’s a visual change, but more importantly, it gives the ERP a refreshed experience as you move between the different parts of your system.
The goal is simple: make the system feel easier to navigate as you use it every day.
Better Performance for Everyday Work
Version 15 also brings significant performance improvements, including faster financial report generation.
For teams working with larger amounts of data, this can make a noticeable difference when generating reports and working through everyday transactions.
There are also performance and stability improvements across the system, so this upgrade isn’t simply about adding new features. It’s also about making the ERP experience more reliable.
More Tools for Accounting and Finance
There are several improvements in the accounting side of ERPNext Version 15.
You’ll have access to features such as Account Closing Balance, Financial Ratios Report, Payment Ledger, background payment reconciliation, and improved handling of advance payments. ERPNext Version 15 also allows certain account heads and cost centres on submitted sales and purchase invoices to be edited without cancelling and amending the entire transaction.
These may sound like small changes, but they can help reduce some of the manual work that comes with keeping financial records organized.
Smarter Inventory and Manufacturing
For teams handling inventory or manufacturing, Version 15 brings several useful additions.
You can now reserve stock against sales orders, work with improved serial and batch handling, and use the Multi-level BOM Creator for more complex bills of materials.
The improved serial and batch selector is also designed to reduce manual entry while allowing serial and batch numbers to be bundled together.
For businesses where inventory is a big part of everyday operations, these improvements can make processes easier to manage and keep track of.
Better Asset Management
ERPNext Version 15 also introduces improvements to asset management, including daily asset depreciation and the separation of depreciation schedules from the asset record itself.
Again, these aren’t necessarily flashy changes. They’re the kind of improvements that become useful when you’re managing real business records day after day.
And If You Use Frappe HR
For clients using Frappe HR, ERPNext Version 15 brings its own set of improvements.
These include a new Performance Module, enhanced leave encashment and leave management, a Shift Attendance Report, and significant payroll performance improvements.
The goal is much the same: give your team better tools without making everyday HR work more complicated.
What Does This Mean for Your ERP?
The upgrade doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly need to relearn everything you’ve been doing.
Your ERP is built around your business and its existing workflows, so we’ll be looking at your current setup as part of the upgrade process. Customizations, integrations, and existing configurations will need to be reviewed to make sure everything continues to work properly.
